How Google+ Compares to Twitter and Facebook
Unlike the past where people had to wait for snail-mail letters for long periods of time, or make a phone call hoping the recipient is at home we’ve now taken on electronic media as our preferred mode of interactive communication.
Social Networks Have Changed Our Lives
Today’s available social networks have enabled people to meet with friends -- both those they know and new ones, network with people from all walks of life and even meet their mates. The advent of internet dating has also enhanced the development of more advanced social networks in the quest to satisfy different consumer needs. Different social networks have come to the lime light customized to satisfy the various growing demands of the growing civilized world.
Accessibility of Social Networks
Computerization of our lives has also made access to the social networks available to a consumer. A gadget as simple as a phone is enough to provide easy access to a social network where one can meet family members, old and new friends, people of like minds and network with business associates.
Comparing Facebook, Twitter, and Google+
Facebook, Twitter and Google plus have a lot in common -- the first one being the most obvious, in that they are all social networks!
Lists vs. Circles
Also, Google+ has the circles for tracking, while Twitter has a similar, albeit less usable, feature in its lists.
Facebook also enables you put connections into lists. Facebook enables you to like with a like button as well as Twitter has the favorite button.
Live vs. +1
Similar to Facebook, Google uses a Google plus button. Google plus allows you to vote on people’s posts. Google + wall posts appear in search results as well as Twitter -- but Facebook only appears on some public pages.
Following
Google + resembles Twitter in one way: ‘following’. However, Google + has an extra advantage in that, even if someone does not follow you and put you in his circle, you can still see what is in their public posts.
Video Chat and Sharing
Facebook, Twitter and Google plus have a video feature. In terms of sharing videos and pictures with friends, you can only share them with your friends on Facebook, you can share pictures and videos on Twitter but there are no limitations as to who gets to see them.
Blocking, Reporting, and Calling out a Scammer
Both Facebook and Google plus have a right corner of post that allow you to block a person, report posts and spam, etc. Twitter, Google + and Facebook has a comment section that allows people to make comments on different posts. Google+ plus has looking for while Facebook has interested in the personal profile allowing a user to choose his priorities.
Profiles
In the profile, education and work section, Facebook is also similar to Google+ and Twitter as they all link you to more personal details. They all have a notification section that updates you on everything that is posted.
Chatting
A Chat section is another feature that is found in these social networks but the users have to be registered. Facebook, Twitter and Google+ has a settings section where you can change your account settings log out or sign out, change your privacy settings etc.
