The mobile phone has come a long way - from luxury to necessity, from being in the possession of a lucky few to being in everyone's pocket. Not only have they come a long way, they are here to stay. With the increasing popularity of Smartphones and applications on them, and the lethal combination of ultra-portability and power, it is not surprising that the mobile phone is growing to be the medium of choice for more than just phone calls. This includes task management, emails, instant messaging, and surfing the web.
The last bit is what should concern every webmaster. Websites, when designed for large, high-resolution monitors, and even hi-def TV screens, fail almost miserably when they try to load on a screen of the size of the average Smartphone, and a processor that is typically much less powerful than a full-fledged laptop. Load times suffer a steep drop, websites look screwed up or do not come about at all, and when they do, they end up being tough to navigate.

So, you're doing your best to insert your business into the evergrowing craze of social media and you've got a Facebook Fan page. You're slowing, but surely, becoming more "liked" by Facebook users and you're doing your best to add fresh and diverse content that is both interesting and valuable to your target audience.
But, what is the value of your Facebook page? How do you determine the ROI for the time and effort you've put into this social networking?

Is your business taking advantage of the ever-growing amount of input that your potential customers are spoon feeding you? Simple searches on Twitter or Facebook for your business can potentially help you to connect with customers who are voicing their opinions about your products or services. Has someone tweeted that they were thrilled with the service they received in your storefront?

If you’ve ever said that your industry doesn’t apply to social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter, we’re sorry to tell you that you couldn’t be more wrong.
Last week’s announcement by Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerburg about their new platform to launch a universal “Like” button across the world wide web is capable of spreading the word about your product, service, or website to literally thousands of people. Of course, in order to use a universal “Like” button, you must first have a Facebook account. And in order for people to “Like” your blog, website, article, and so forth, you must have the “Like” button on your site.
